Fundraising

The Marlow Bottom Pre-School Playgroup is a charitable, non-profit making organisation and fees alone do not provide all the funds we need continue to offer all the vital equipment required to provide a wide variety of activities for the children.

Each year we have a fundraising target that goes towards the running costs, the purchase of new equipment and improvements to the playgroup. To achieve this we run various events which in the past have included sponsored walks, teddy bears’ picnics for the children to participate in, a Christmas Bazaar which is promoted in the local area, Quiz Nights and a Ladies Pampering Evening for the parents.

Last year we successfully achieved our £4,000 target but this year (2010/2011) we have a very ambitious target of £6,000 so we’ll be busy organising plenty of events in the coming months. Click HERE for details of the events.
There are various ways in which the parents can help or get involved:
- We are always looking for items such as small toys, games, sweets etc. for tombola stalls that will run throughout the year.
- Maybe you, someone you know or the company you work for could donate something more desirable that we could use as a raffle prize, especially for the Christmas Bazaar.
- Do you have a skill or could you offer a service at one of our events to make them more interesting and enjoyable for either the children or the parents?
- Maybe you are able do some photocopying or printing of flyers and posters to promote our events.
- Give us a little bit of your time to help organise or run our events – the committee members can’t do it all so any amount of time you can offer would be much appreciated.
- Or by simply helping to sell as many raffle tickets as possible or getting one or two extra sponsors for your child’s sponsored event.
